Madrone I used most; it is a hard wood, while easy to turn while the wood is still wet, it is very delicate when dry: requires very sharp tools, correct technique and lots of patience. It can be finished to high gloss after lots of sanding.
The wood colors from almost white or pink for the main upper trunk, redísh for the lower part up to dark red for the roots. The later are best for decorative items showing most rustic structure.
